From the construction of the Great Pyramids and the mysterious Sphinx to the intricate 70-day mummification process and the journey to the underworld.

What topics are covered?

  • A Brief History of Pyramids: Traces the evolution of Egyptian tombs from rectangular mastabas to the very first step pyramid designed by Imhotep, and explains how these massive structures were built by paid craftsmen, not slaves.
  • The Afterlife: Explores the perilous journey to the underworld (Duat). Learn about the Book of the Dead and the dramatic "weighing of the heart" ceremony judged by the gods Anubis, Thoth, and Osiris.
  • Mummies: A detailed and fascinating look at the 70-day mummification process. Discover how internal organs were stored in canopic jars, how natron salt dried the body, and why even cats and crocodiles were mummified.
  • Famous Pyramids: Discover the legendary Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious Sphinx. Learn about Pharaoh Khufu's massive tomb, hidden burial chambers with false doors, and the only surviving marvel of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
