Fileas the Tortoise.

Fileas

Fileas is a 20-year-old red-footed tortoise who was adopted into our family three years ago. He lives in Finland, near the Arctic Circle.

Most of the day, Fileas roams freely, exploring his surroundings, and at night, he sleeps soundly in his terrarium. Fileas usually eats once a day, mostly green leaves and vegetables, and his favorite treats are dandelion leaves, tomatoes, and berries. Occasionally, he also gets eggs or mealworms for protein.

Once or twice a week, Fileas takes a bath, standing in water while his shell is brushed with a toothbrush. Fileas enjoys colorful pictures in encyclopedias and science magazines. He also likes to playfully tease his dog friends by walking over them and stealing their food.
